Opened as Commerce Guardian Bank in 1929. Destroyed by fire in 1999.

The Commerce Guardian Bank didn’t stay open long. In 1934 it became the Westmoreland Inn. In 1937 Clarke “Pinkie” Pittenger purchased the restaurant. The Westmoreland Inn closed in 1941.

In January of 1942 Clarence Bihl opened the Ottawa Tavern in the former Westmoreland Inn. Although the location remained the Ottawa Tavern, ownership change hands over the years.
